The Eurovision Battle Royale 2034, also known as the Eurovision 2034, or the EBR 2034, or more simply Montenegro 2034, was the 19th annual edition of the Battle Royale contest that took place in Kotor, Montenegro. A total of 56 countries announced their intent to participate in the event. The Battle Royale consisted of one quarterfinal, followed by four groups of 24 citizens, all of which acted as qualifiers to the Grand Final.
The host country, Montenegro, was the winning nation of the 18th edition the year before, which gave them automatic hosting responsibilities for this edition, as well as automatically qualifying them to the Grand Final. The other countries were obliged to compete in either the quarterfinal if they had a low placing the year before, or the Group stage, with each being distributed randomly through a random draw. During the Group Stage, 24 citizens from each country participated in 4 groups in a fight to the death until only 8 citizens remained, with the remaining qualifying for the Grand Final in which another fight to the death would take place, this time until only one remained.
The winner of this edition of the Eurovision Battle Royale was Ana Mišković of Croatia. She managed to escape a huge landslide-caused tsunami, while Iveta Havličková of Czech Republic drowned, causing her to finish as the runner-up. Wiktoria Galinska of Poland, Jeanine Palmer of Scotland, and Amiran Kotrikadze of Georgia completed the Top 5. The host country, Montenegro, had it's citizens finishing in 11th and 24th place.
Arena[]
The Arena for this edition was decided on October 10, 2033. It was decided that the Kotor Bay area would host due to its huge popularity amongst international tourists.
Format and Rules[]
The draw to determine in which semi-final each country would participate, as well as the podium numbers on which the host country's citizens would start, took place in Podgorica, on the 2nd of December, 2033. Each country had until December 1st to announce their intent to participate in the Eurovision, and each country had until March 3, 2034 to submit their citizens.
The majority of countries chose their citizen through an internal selection, by means of a "Reaping". The reaping occurs when the governments of Europe, each organizes a televised lottery of their citizens where every single one, aged between 13 and 50, are obliged to have their names placed into a big pot of sorts, and after randomizing the names like a true lottery, one male and one female name are read out live on national television by government officials. These citizens are the reaped citizens to represent their country in the Eurovision. It's notable that each year the majority of citizens see this as an exciting honor, and many volunteer to be picked. To profit from this, it's necessary for each hopeful volunteer to pay money in order for their name to be entered more than once. This process could cost from as little as £50 in poorer countries, to £500 in more wealthy ones. The maximum number of times that a volunteer can have their name in a pot is 100. One would think that there wouldn't be that many volunteers for such a violent and life-ending event, but in this universe, the citizens of Europe look extremely positively on the event and see it as rebirth of the Golden Age of Ancient Greece and Rome; therefore, there are thousands of citizens each year who try to volunteer to bring glory and honor to their country.
In the build-up to the actual event, each reaped citizen is invited to many locations all throughout Europe to promote themselves, forge alliances with the other citizens, and talk with potential sponsors. These official parties are announced by the Event Organizers (EOs) usually around the start of the new year. These are televised and watched by millions as well, similar to how millions each year watch the red carpet for award shows.
The list of Official Parties for this year:
- Russia: Kazan (18 March)
- Norway: Bergen (31 March)
- Portugal: Lisbon (8 April)
- Italy: Trieste (21 April)
These parties aren't obligatory however, and some alternatives to this include immediately moving into the Citizen's Village (usually a high-tec tower or complex located in or near the city center of the most populous city in the host country). In any case, citizens are obliged to move into the Citizen's Village a month before the quarterfinal. This is because each citizen needs time to get their fitness up and competitive to put on an entertaining TV show, as well as acclimate to the host country. The EOs provide each country and citizen with their own team of trainers, cooks, stylists, and other specialists free of charge to ensure that each citizen can become fit and competitive enough so the Battle Royale will be as entertaining as ever. For the month that the citizens live there, they are encouraged to learn survival techniques and work out so their chances of survival in the harsh Arena increases.
The night before the first semi-final, the Opening Ceremony takes place. Comparable to Olympic ceremonies, this ceremony celebrates the history and culture of the host country, and further includes multiple shows of firework, music, and other cultural and ethnic performances, as well as high-tec displays and other pyrotechnics. Following the cultural show is the Parade of Nations. Each citizen from the participating countries were brought into the main complex (usually the widest and biggest street in the Capitol of the host country) on high-tec self-driving chariots and shown to billions worldwide. More so, each chariot was decorated with symbols from the country each citizen is from, and followed their national flag. As soon as the pomp and celebration finished, the EOs and government officials of the host country gave speeches, the Eurovision Battle Royale flag was raised with the host country's flag, and the citizen's oath. The final event of the ceremony is the lighting of the cauldron, performed by the winner of the previous edition in every edition so far except the first.
Following the Opening Ceremony, the citizens are forced into lockdown in the Citizen's Village until their semi-final. It is forbidden for a citizen to have prior knowledge to results in a semi-final or access to anything that could give them an advantage in their semi-final. In fact, the citizens are forced to go with television and internet until their semi-final. This is to assure that the suspense is retained and each citizen participates fairly.
Tie-Break rules for the Semi-Finals[]
- Top 11 or 12 remaining citizens in each semi-final all live to compete in the Grand Final
- Of those, they are firstly ranked by number of kills they have committed.
- If all is still tied, then the Degrees of Separation Rule is enforced. (for those tied with 2+ kills, this is applied first)
- ex. Jan of Germany kills only Teo of Belgium. Teo of Belgium had killed 2 other citizens beforehand. Erik of Sweden only kills Andriy of Russia. Andriy of Russia had killed 1 citizen beforehand. Jan of Germany will be ranked higher than Erik of Sweden in the semi-finals.
- 4. If the citizens still have the same number of kills, then the tie-break favors the one that reached that number of kills the earliest. (this only applies to citizens with 1 kill)
- 5. This Degree of Separation Rule will continue until necessary.
- 6. If all is still tied, the tie-break favors those who are furthest away from pod number 18.
- 7. If all is still tied, then the citizens will share the position.
Quarterfinals[]
The lowest 22 performing countries' citizens in each semi-final of the previous year were forced to compete in the Quarterfinals. To not prolong the duration of the entire Eurovision, the Quarterfinal is usually placed in a tiny obstacle-filled Arena inside a sports stadium. The Quarterfinal is only meant to last 2 days at most.
This quarterfinal took place on 1 June, in Podgorica City Stadium, and lasted about 4 hours.

The Grand Final []
Live from the Arena![]
Welcome to the start of the Eurovision Battle Royale 2034. We are coming to you live from Kotor Bay, Montenegro, which is the location of this year's Arena. In just under 5 minutes, the thirty-two finalists who battled their way through the Group stage will join the quarterfinalist qualifiers and the host country's own two automatic qualifiers inside the Arena, where they will commence a fight-to-the-death in which only one person will be left standing. That person will forever be honored as a hero in their country and have their name etched in the history books as a Eurovision Battle Royale champion. We can only imagine how nervous the competing citizens must be.
It looks like the citizens are being raised onto their pods. With all the pomp and months of preparations over with, we can finally say with delight: let the 19th Eurovision Battle Royale begin!
Day 1 (June 16)[]
Summary []
Many of the pre-favorites to win have all been shockingly killed here on the opening day of the 19th Eurovision Battle Royale. Portugal, Croatia, Belgium, Finland, and Hungary were all favorites but are now out thanks to outsiders like Jeanine of Scotland, Fethi of Turkey, and Amiran of Georgia. Many of these deaths took place in the old medieval-looking quarter of Kotor, with only Youri being killed on the road near Risan.
Seven citizens died, 29 remain.
Day 2 (June 17)[]
Summary []
It was a quieter day. Inna was caught trying to sneak across the port of Kotor, and was killed by Amiran of Georgia, who many think will now be the oldest winner ever and bring Eurovision to Georgia for a second time. Ardit of Slovenia was a favorite, but he was surprisingly killed by Dirina of Albania, who smashed his head against the cobblestone streets of Risan. It was a fierce battle though, and Ardit managed to deeply stab her before he died. Dirina would later die of her injuries while travelling north of Risan.
Three citizens died, 26 remain.
Day 3 (June 18)[]
Summary []
It was another quiet day. Binia of Monaco was able to successfully kill Andruilla of Cyprus via foot-trap near the town of Donja Lastva, and Helena of Greece chased down and killed young Lorian of Liechtenstein. It was a long chase that ended in the wealthy suburb of Muo.
Two citizens died, 24 remain.
Day 4 (June 19)[]
There were no events today.
Day 5 (June 20)[]
Summary []
Sad news for the host country as their first of two citizens was killed today. Jeanine of Scotland caught him scavenging in an abandoned gift shop in Kotor old town. A fight ensued and Jeanine bashed his head with a stapler. Vosgi of Armenia got his first kill, after stumbling upon Lilija of Lithuania sleeping. He slit her throat and walked away.
Two citizens died, 22 remain.
Day 6 (June 21)[]
Summary []
Today was a lot more exciting! The big news is that pre-tournament favorite Eline of Netherlands has been killed by the current favorite Jeanine of Scotland. Stylianos of Greece also proved he's in it to win it by stalking, ambushing, and suffocating to death Ingrid of Denmark.
Four citizens died, 18 remain.
Day 7 (June 22)[]
There were no events today.
Day 8 (June 23)[]
There were no events today. The citizens are all spread out throughout the Bay, wanting to kill but all unwilling to make the first move.
Day 9 (June 24)[]
Summary []
Today was a lot more exciting! The huge story is the clever murder of the two Greek citizens by the host nation's very own Anica. Helena and Stylianos were scavenging in Lepetane when one of them walked straight onto a mine. The two were instantly obliterated, and a few moments later Anica of Montenegro came from behind some apartments to loot them. Senni of Finland also got two kills, making her a firm favorite to win. Lastly, Aizhan of Kazakhstan got her second kill against a very strong competitor. She is definitely a dark horse; but can she bring luck to Kazakhstan's constant misfortune in Eurovision?
Six citizens died, 12 remain.
Day 10 (June 25)[]
Attention Citizens: Tomorrow morning, there will be a Feast at the cornucopia. Please come to Old Town Kotor to claim the weapons and food you all most desperately need. Good luck.
Summary []
This has certainly shaked things up! Anica of Montenegro and Senni of Finland were huge favorites to win, but they both lay dead after the brutal fights that occurred at the Feast. With so little left, lets analyse the remaining citizens.
Jeanine of Scotland has the most kills with 4, but she is closely followed by Aizhan of Kazakhstan and Iveta of Czech Republic with 3 each. Amiran of Georgia and Fernand of Luxembourg both have 2, while Ana of Croatia and Wiktoria of Poland have 0 and have rarely been seen in the Eurovision Grand Final yet. At this point, there is still no clear favorite.
Five citizens died, 7 remain.
Day 11 (June 26)[]
Summary []
Today was less exciting. Aizhan of Kazakhstan had a good run and has secured the best result for her country, but she was nothing for Amiran of Georgia, who fought her in the bay shore near Old Town and held her head underwater until she drowned.
One citizen died, 6 remain.
Day 12 (June 27)[]
Summary []
As usual, the Eurovision is as unpredictable as ever! Ana and Wiktoria hadn't been seen in almost 2 weeks, and today they both were able to get their first kills by killing the heavy favorites. Ana came out of nowhere to hit Fernand of Luxembourg in the face with a bat as he passed an open cavern in Risan, while Wiktoria of Poland hid in the bush and waited until Amiran walked by the shoot him with a sharp stone slingshot in the neck, which killed him.
Now we have just four left. Iveta and Jeanine are still the heavy favorites as they have the most kills, but Ana and Wiktoria are now in the mix, but with less kills.
Two citizens died, 4 remain.
Day 13 (June 28)[]
Summary []
Another twist! Does Jeanine's untimely death at the hands of a huge vicious goat mean certain victory for Czech Republic? I have a feeling we'll find out tomorrow!
One citizen died, 3 remain.
Day 14 (June 29)[]
Attention Citizens! That loud noise you just heard was a huge landslide into the Bay. It has triggered an extremely lethal tsunami. Find shelter if you wish to live!
Summary []
And that's it! Europe, your winner of the 19th Eurovision Battle Royale is Ana Mišković of Croatia, Congratulations!
